Hello

In June 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer. In order to pinpoint the types of cancer to create the perfect chemotherapy cocktail, we are waiting for results from a molecular profile test. Until we see the results, we can't make a prognosis.

My local oncologist has referred me to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston! I'm excited to get top-tier care! However, not looking forward to Houston in summer.

My Story

I was born and raised in Wisconsin until I graduated from high school. In 1979, my family decided to move to Dallas to pursue better business opportunities. While attending the University of Texas at Dallas, I met my future husband, Curt, in a drama class. We married, after getting my degree, in March 1986. We lived in Dallas until Curt's diagnoses of malignant brain cancer and moved to Houston so he could be a patient with the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. After about 10 years in Houston, we moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for 1 year at the beginning of the Great Recession. We closed up our apartment and moved to Albuquerque in 2007.

After working in private industry for Fortune 100 companies, I decided to switch my career to teaching. I earned my certificate from CNM and started teaching for APS. In 2020, I beat about 500 other applicants to get hired as a technology teacher at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School.

I have had many interests in my life including sewing, fishing, skiing, singing, pottery making, gardening, crafts, photography, and riding my Bumblebee.
